Following global trends in the development of gadgets \u2013 mobile phone accessories, a team of young people within the company WEB387 <\/a>has developed a Bosnian version of the currently popular \u201cphone finger ring.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zvekir is made of zamak, a material that is an alloy of zinc and aluminum. The movable joint rotates 360 degrees and adjusts to the hand. When positioned at a 90-degree angle, it serves as a phone stand. It is ideal for secure photography and comfortable typing.<\/p>\n

Zvekir is packaged in a wooden box on which your logo can be engraved. The packaging also includes a booklet explaining the symbolism of the zvekir in multiple languages. Zvekir is applied to the back of the phone.<\/p>\n

A zvekir is a metal ring attached to entrance doors, made in the shape of a ring or knocker. In the past, it served as a replacement for a doorbell.<\/p>

Craftsmen shaped them from wrought iron, as well as from bronze, and even gold. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, they can still be seen in the old parts of cities, on the doors of traditional Bosnian houses.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Symbolism of the Zvekir\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Today, in the era of modern doorbells, the zvekir has lost its original function but still retains strong symbolism. The sound of striking the zvekir on the door has been featured in many Bosnian sevdalinka songs and serves as a metaphor for a guest\u2019s arrival.

In songs, the Zvekir refers to the doors of Bosnia, open for centuries to all well-intentioned visitors. Today, the zvekir is one of the symbols of the city of Sarajevo. It can be seen on the emblems of museums in Sarajevo and on the institutions of the Sarajevo Canton.

Interestingly, the word \u201cZvekir\u201d has the same meaning among all the peoples of the former Yugoslavia. Its powerful symbolism was not ignored by the British Empire either, as the entrance to the residence of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at 10 Downing Street in London is also adorned with a massive zvekir featuring a lion\u2019s head.
